Ezra’s one year photos

Ezra’s one-year session was more than just a milestone—it was a celebration of life, resilience, and God’s faithfulness. Born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), Ezra spent most of his first year in the hospital. His journey has been filled with challenges, but his joy and strength shine in every image.

I had the honor of working with Ezra’s dad during my time as Creative Director at Victory Church, and many may also know him from the Christian meme community on Instagram. Throughout Ezra’s time at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, their family was a source of light and encouragement to so many.

A powerful part of this session was capturing Ezra with his Beads of Courage—each bead representing a step in his medical journey, from procedures to victories. It was also important to Ezra’s parents that we embrace and normalize the use of his feeding tube, making sure it was included in the photos as a meaningful and unashamed part of his story.

Ezra is a living testament to God’s love and protection, and documenting this moment in his life was truly an honor.
