XXVII Sermon Series Graphics
This sermon series, titled XXVII (27), focused on each of the 27 books of the New Testament—a deep and powerful journey through scripture. Our pastor’s vision for the branding was clear: he wanted something with a strong, crumbling rock aesthetic to reflect both the strength and rawness of early church history.
I designed a visual concept that paired that rugged foundation with visual elements inspired by the geography of the New Testament. The color palette was drawn from the landscapes of the region, and a subtle topographic map texture was layered into the design to represent both the mountainous terrain and the journeys that take place throughout the New Testament writings.
To support the series, I collaborated with a design agency to produce custom notebooks that included background info on each book of the New Testament and space for sermon notes. I designed the front and back covers of these notebooks to align with the overall series branding.
Because the series spanned more than 27 weeks, I created seasonal variations of the main sermon graphic to keep things visually fresh. For example, during the summer months, we swapped in a version with bolder, brighter tones to reflect the season while still staying true to the brand’s core.
This project was a true blend of design strategy, biblical storytelling, and visual creativity—one of my favorites to work on.
